Huntington Police Blotter: Man Sold Cocaine 4 Times

The man was accused of having more cocaine in his possession when being arrested, police say.

The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • June 16: Derek Peterson, 34, of Huntington, was accused of selling cocaine four times in Huntington Station between Nov. 2, 2022, and June 2, police said. Officers found cocaine in Peterson's possession when arresting him on June 16, police said. He was arrested and charged with four counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance: narcotic drug, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance: narcotic drug w/ intent to sell, one count of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and one count of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
  • June 14: Jimmy Saravia-Rodriguez, 28, of Huntington Station, kicked and punched a man, causing him to suffer a head injury around 8:30 p.m. June 13 on Third Avenue in Huntington Station, police said. The man needed to go to the hospital, police said. Saravia-Rodriguez was arrested and charged with third-degree assault.
