Huntington Police Blotter: Man Spits At Officer, Kicks Their Leg
The man was being arrested in connection with a DWI when he physically harassed the officer, police say.
HUNTINGTON, NY — These are recent arrests made in the Huntington area from Jan. 17 through Jan. 23.
The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.
- David Johnson, 71, of North Babylon, was driving a GMC Yukon truck southbound on Commack Road in Dix Hills at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 21 when he collided with a 2019 Jeep, injuring the Jeep driver, police said. Johnson then fled, police said. He was arrested and charged with first-degree leave accident: failure to show license/ID on Jan. 21.
- Adolfo Martinez, 34, of Huntington Station, parked his 2005 Nissan Maxima on the corner of Wolf Hill Road and Windsor Place in Huntington at 10:05 p.m. Jan. 19 and left his vehicle running, police said. Martinez's breath smelled of alcohol, police said. Martinez kicked an officer in the leg and spit in their chest, police said. He was arrested and charged with DWI: previous conviction in 10 years, resisting arrest and second-degree harassment: physical contact on Jan. 19.
- Derrick Loyde, 34, of Huntington, was found to have crack cocaine in his coat pocket during a search by an officer at 6:31 p.m. Jan. 17 on New York Avenue in Huntington Station, police said. On Dec. 30, Loyde made multiple charges to someone else's debit card at a Huntington Station liquor shop, police said. He was arrested and charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property: possession of credit card and two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of controlled substance on Jan. 17.
