Huntington Police Blotter: Man Strangles Another Man To Sleep

The two were fighting when one of the men squeezed his hands around the other's throat until he lost consciousness, police say.

HUNTINGTON, NY — These are recent arrests made in the Huntington area from Aug. 2 through Aug. 7.

The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • Dasheem Dunn, 22, of Dix Hills, punched the front windshield of a vehicle at the corner of Park Avenue and East Main Street in Huntington, shattering the window, police said. He was arrested and charged with criminal mischief: intent to damage property on Aug. 4.
  • DaQuan Thompson, 23, of Mastic Beach, was on East Fifth Street in Huntington Station at 2 a.m. Aug. 2 when he was found to have cocaine packaged in a manner consistent with street-level narcotics sales, as well as scales, police said. While Thompson was being searched at the Second Precinct, officers found he had marijuana, police said. He was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal possession of controlled substance: narcotic drug w/ intent to sell, second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia and second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana on Aug. 2.
  • Donato Flammia, 35, of Glen Cove, was in a fight with another man when he squeezed his hands around the man's throat until he lost consciousness, police said. The fight happened at 9:30 p.m. May 31 in West Hills, police said. Flammia was arrested and charged with second-degree strangulation on Aug. 2.
