Huntington Police Blotter: Multiple Homes Broken Into

ALSO: Two cars were stolen, police say.

HUNTINGTON, NY — Curious about what's going on in your neighborhood? These are recent incidents reported in the Huntington area from Jan. 2 through Jan. 8.

The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • Jan. 7: Burglary (second-degree) was reported on East 10th Street in Huntington Station from Jan. 6 at 10:25 p.m. Someone broke into a home and stole tools, police said.
  • Jan. 7: Burglary (second-degree) was reported on Winding Street in Huntington Station at noon. Someone broke into a home through the basement, pried open a safe, and swiped cash, police said.
  • Jan. 6: Burglary (third-degree) was reported on Oakwood Road in Huntington Station at 9:39 p.m. A person tried to break into Extra Space Storage but they were unable to, police said.
  • Jan. 6: Grand larceny (second-degree) was reported on Beal Court in Huntington at 7:12 p.m. A 2021 Dodge Durango was stolen in front of a home, police said. The key fob was left inside the Dodge, police said.
  • Jan. 6: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on Longfellow Drive in Huntington Station at 8:03 p.m. A 2018 Jeep was stolen from in front of a home, police said. The key fob was left inside the Jeep, police said.
  • Jan. 5: Burglary (second-degree) was reported on John Daves Lane in Huntington at 9:33 p.m. Jewelry and the box it was in were stolen from a home during a break-in, police said.
