Huntington Police Blotter: Pawn Shop Burglarized

A man smashed a display case with a hammer and snatched watches and coins, police say.

HUNTINGTON, NY — These are recent arrests made in the Huntington area from Jan. 31 through Feb. 6.

The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • Matthew Iovino, 27, of Melville, did not register his Instagram account, which resulted in a sex offender registry violation, police said. He was arrested and charged with sex offender registry violation: second offense on Feb. 4.
  • Montavious Jackson, 30, of Bellport, broke into Gem Pawnbrokers, at 708 Walt Whitman Road, Melville, at 3:38 a.m. Feb. 6 and stole watches and coins after smashing a display case with a hammer, police said. He was arrested and charged with third-degree burglary: illegal entry w/ intent on Feb. 6.
