Huntington School Budget Passes, Board Members Elected
Voters have decided on a proposed 2015-16 budget.

Huntington residents approved the school district’s $120.4 million proposed budget on Tuesday by over an 80 percent margin, according to the school district.
The vote was 1,228-301.
The budget includes a 0.47 percent increase in spending over the current year and carries a 2.27 percent tax levy increase, which is within the state’s tax cap. The average Huntington homeowner would pay about $184 additional in school taxes next year, before the STAR program.

School board candidates Christine Biernacki, Thomas DiGiacomo, Xavier Palacios and Emily Rogan ran unopposed and were elected.
