Suffolk Man Admits To Sexually Abusing Daughter Repeatedly: DA

The previously absent father sexually abused his daughter over three years and threatened her to not tell anyone, the DA says.

SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — A Huntington Station man, 38, pleaded guilty to repeatedly sexually abusing his daughter, Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney announced Wednesday.

The father sexually abused his daughter over three years and pleaded guilty to first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child and other related charges, the DA said.

"This defendant was an absent father who came back into his child's life only to sexually abuse her shortly thereafter," Tierney said in a news release. "Fortunately, the victim felt comfortable confiding in her teacher, which led to a thorough investigation by the Suffolk County Police Department and prosecution by my office, culminating in his admittance of guilt. I want to thank everyone involved in this case for zealously protecting the rights of this child."

The man was not named to protect his daughter's identity, the DA said.

The man began sexually abusing his daughter, who was 7 years old at the time, in summer 2016during his weekend visitations, according to court documents. Before then, the father had not been a regular part of his daughter's life, and had only reached out to see her shortly before the abuse began, authorities said.

The man told his daughter that if she told anyone about what he did, that "something bad would
happen to her," the DA said.

He also frequently bought his daughter gifts as an apology for the sexual abuse he subjected her to, investigators said.

The abuse continued until 2019, when the girl, who was 10 years old at the time, told her mother
that she was no longer comfortable sleeping at her father's house, authorities said. In 2022, the girl told a teacher what her father had done, which prompted a police investigation and the man's arrest, prosecutors said.

The man pleaded guilty on Wednesday to one count each of first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child; second-degree course of sexual conduct against a child; second-degree sexual abuse; and endangering the welfare of a child.

The man is due back in court for sentencing on Feb. 9. He is being represented by Christopher Brocato.
