HAUPPAUGE, NY — The Harry Chapin Food Bank has awarded $12,000 in grants to partner shelters/pantries Resurrection House and Haven House/Bridges, according to a news release. Haven House/Bridges has a Huntington Station outpost.
The grants are part of the Hunger Prevention and Nutrition Assistance Program (HPNAP) administered by the New York State Department of Health.
The "Operations Support" grant provides funding for staff costs. Resurrection House was awarded $3,000 for staff at its Wyandanch location. Haven House/Bridges will use its $9,000 grant for staffing at Huntington Station, Brentwood and Central Islip.
