"A Jouney to Women's Wellness Day at the YMCA

All women are invited to join us at the Huntington YMCA on March 6th from 11am-1pm for a day of relaxation, and well being.

Our Woman’s Wellness event is an opportunity for women to take time for themselves, to be good to themselves and to recharge, fill their tanks. We want to remind women that being attentive to themselves and their own self care is so important for improving physical health, mental health and quality of life.
The quest for a healthier lifestyle is achieved through the exploration of complementary paths that lead to optimal health and wellness. On Sunday March 6, 2016 we will host our 10th annual “A Woman’s Journey to Wellness Day” at the Huntington YMCA. From 11:00am through 1:00pm we will join together as a community and present an array of wellness ideas, products and information. The journey begins with your presence at this one-day event.
The Huntington YMCA’s Journey to Wellness Day is designed to restore Spirit, Mind and Body. Visit the HUNTINGTON YMCA to try a new fitness class including Yoga, Pilates and Tai Chi,or browse our health and wellness forum including mini spa treatments, mini massage, spinal care, stress management tips, and many more wellness products and services from over 30 local community providers. This event is FREE and open to all in our community + raffles! +refreshments!
We are also pleased to present guest speaker Dr. Banks, author of "Natural Cures for Dummies" Dr. Banks will discuss natural strategies for
"Managing a Woman’s Hormones Through a Functional Medicine Approach". The key points in this discussion will include natural strategies for dealing with the following:Hot flashes, Weight gain, Fear of Aging, Irritability, Loss of Libido, Pain, and Depression.
Guest speaker Integrative Mind-Body Specialist, Miriam Goldstein of Stone to Water Therapeutics, will focus on connecting with our health needs with "In The Moment " strategies for getting through the stressful moments that daily life throws our way. Miriam will begin with a 5 minute intro/ connection experience for the group and then do 2 meditation self-care techniques that will leave everyone balanced and with less pain. These are just a few highlights in what will be an amazing day made possible by the Huntington YMCA.
We will have our very own Wellness table providing information on some of the programs we offer for free to members in our community including LIVESTRONG at the YMCA a free cancer survivor exercise program as well as our nationally recognized Diabetes Prevention Program. The YMCA is a not for profit charitable organization and relies on funding through donation to support these programs as well as many other programs for all ages. The YMCA also offers hundreds of scholarships for summer camp, pre-school and after school programs, membership and wellness programs to hundreds of members in our community. From safe spaces to academic achievement to family well being and more, with the help from donations we are able to give those in need the opportunity to thrive.
