  1. LI vets from Iraq, Afghanistan were honored at Museum of American Armor on yesterday. For the first time ever on Long Island. After president Joe Biden pulled the troops out of Afghanistan last month, many of those troops were honored for the first time on Saturday in Nassau. The war on terror lasted 20 years and former 1st Sgt. John O'Dougherty said, "Well, I lost a lot of friends on 9/11 and actually I watched the second plane come in, and it was something that I just, I just couldn't get out of my mind for a long time, and I just felt that I hadn't finished what maybe I had started in the military, maybe it was time to go back." (News 12 Bronx)
  2. Fourteen Harborfields Girl Scouts Complete Creative Courtyard Project. "From the beginning stages where the Girl Scouts were collecting bottles and cans, to raising the funding and soliciting donations, to the countless hours creating, staining, painting, sanding, installing and planting, I could not be prouder of these remarkable group of girls," Troop Leader Rebecca Waldren said via release. "Their excitement to make the courtyard beautiful for all of the little children of Washington Drive was the driving force behind all their hard work, and we hope the students can enjoy it for years to come."
