Lottery Gives Residents Chance to Live in Huntington Affordable Housing
The lottery narrowed it down to 156 applicants for the six two-bedroom units and five three-bedroom units available.

Several prospective purchasers were in attendance Tuesday at a lottery drawing for new Huntington development that looks to bring affordable housing to Long Island.
The drawing, held at Huntington Town Hall, had 40 prospective purchasers in attendance. The lottery was narrowed down to 156 applicants who will be contacted to continue the qualification process for the 76-unit Country Pointe at Huntington development.
There are six two-bedroom units and five three-bedroom units available at the development, which is adjacent to Avalon Bay Huntington on East Fifth Street.

The sales price for the two-bedroom units is $212,375 for those who qualify at 80 percent of the median income ($59,450 for an individual, $84,950 for a family of four) and $318,625 for the three-bedroom units for those who qualify at the 120 percent of median income ($89,200 for an individual, $127,450 for a family of four).

Country Pointe residents will have access to Avalon Bay’s amenities, including the clubhouse, pool and children’s play area.
The formal application process is the next step. The Town’s Community Development Agency will contact applicants in their lottery order and will determine whether they meet the criteria. Applicants are responsible for obtaining their own financing.
