LUPINACCI ADVANCES HIGHER EDUCATION AGENDA
Lupinacci unveiled an innovative higher education agenda designed to halt the student loan debt.

Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci (R,C,I-South Huntington) today unveiled an innovative higher education agenda designed to halt the student loan debt crisis in New York State.
“Sky-high college tuition and inevitable debt have discouraged countless prospective students from pursing a higher education. This is unacceptable. New York is a state of opportunity. We need to step in and control this debt crisis. It is simply wrong for students to face insurmountable debt to attend college,” said Lupinacci.
He noted that the average student’s debt after completing their studies at a four-year institution in New York State is nearly $30,000.

Lupinacci’s higher education package includes a student loan payment tax deduction, generous scholarships for community college students and a “Learn for Work” program to accelerate career readiness.
“Everyone should have an equal opportunity to earn a high quality and unique education at any of our state’s public and private colleges or institutions. Our goal in Albany this year should be to help more New Yorkers pay back their loans and make college more affordable for students moving forward,” said Lupinacci.
