Lupinacci Applauds L.I. NAACP Leaders And Honorees

Assemblyman Chad A. Lupinacci (R,C,I – South Huntington) joined leaders of the NAACP’s Long Island Region branches on February 27 for their 11th Long Island biennial luncheon, where NAACP National Board President and CEO Cornell William Brooks addressed the conference dedicated to the theme of “Pursuing Liberty in the Face of Injustice.”

“I am honored once again to attend this tremendous event and recognize the NAACP’s regional leadership. Thanks to the guidance of these men and women and the dedication of those who came before them, the NAACP has played a key role in advancing the cause of racial equality by encouraging civic participation and involvement in our minority communities,” Lupinacci said.

At the luncheon, Huntington NAACP President Betty Miller honored Huntington High School senior Justin Waite and longtime Huntington civil rights activist Irene Moore for their contributions to the community.

“Since my election in 2012, I have valued the insight of the leaders of the Huntington Branch of the NAACP. Their tireless efforts and strong voices have made a tremendous impact throughout the 10th Assembly District,” Lupinacci said. “I want to thank everyone who made this event possible. I applaud each of them as they remain steadfast in pursuit of liberty in the face of injustice.
