LUPINACCI: ASSEMBLY NEEDS TO TAKE ETHICS SERIOUSLY
Lupinacci today urged Assembly Democrats to pass critical ethics reform legislation at a press conference with his Republican colleagues.

Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci (R,C,I-South Huntington) today urged Assembly Democrats to pass critical ethics reform legislation at a press conference with his Republican colleagues.
“The 17 Rules Reform proposals, which included term limits for legislative leaders and broadcasting of committee meetings, were overwhelmingly blocked by Assembly Democrats for the second year in a row.
“It’s frustrating to know that Assembly Democrats have once again refused to take ethics and pension reform seriously. They continue to talk a big game on reform but fail to deliver every single time,” said Lupinacci. “Last year, Assembly Democrats promised to take ethics reform seriously after two legislative leaders were indicted on corruption charges, but they balked at the last minute and stopped any chance of progress. We had another opportunity today to bring more openness, accountability and transparency to the Assembly. But because of Assembly Democrats, New Yorkers can unfortunately expect the same gridlock and dysfunction we’ve seen for decades.”
