LUPINACCI CELEBRATES LOCAL VETERANS

Lupinacci speaks before veterans at the Half Hollow Hills Community Library.

Assemblyman Chad A. Lupinacci (R,C,I-South Huntington) recently joined the residents of Dix Hills to commemorate 20 distinguished veterans from the surrounding region. The ceremony, held at Half Hollow Hills Community Library, was attended by local leaders, community advocates and representatives from the American Legion Post 1244 Color Guard.

Each of the recognized veterans was chosen to participate in a veteran’s testimonial co-op with the Half Hollow Hills Community Library and the United States Library of Congress. Their stories of active combat were recorded and have been archived on the Library of Congress Website (http://www.loc.gov/vets/).

“It was great to be part of this terrific ceremony that recognizes the courageous men and women who have sacrificed so much for American freedom, liberty and security,” Lupinacci said. “It is so important to pass these testimonials along for future generations to recognize the tremendous bravery of service men and women. There is no greater or more honorable profession in our society than being a member of our Armed Forces, and to each man and woman who has answered the call of duty, I say thank you. I would like to thank the Half Hollow Hills Community Library for hosting an event to express our deepest gratitude to our veterans and their place in history.”
