LUPINACCI: COMMON CORE TASK FORCE ALREADY CALLING FOR CHANGES

A statement from Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci (R,C,I-South Huntington)

“While I’m encouraged by the Common Core Task Force’s recommendations, many of these proposals were previously rejected by the governor and state education leaders. It’s unfortunate that it took this long for them to hear our voices.

“If these recommendations are put into place, teachers will no longer be evaluated based on student test scores, and teachers and parents will finally be brought into the discussion to create state exams that are more age-appropriate. It’s important to continue to keep our voices loud and make sure Gov. Cuomo implements these recommendations immediately.”
