LUPINACCI CONGRATULATES ROSE PEDRETTI
Lupinacci joins Walt Whitman High School Principal John Murphy, Italian-American Award recipient Rose Pedretti and South Huntington Schools.
Assemblyman Chad A. Lupinacci (R,C,I-South Huntington) is proud to announce that Walt Whitman High School senior Rose Pedretti is a winner of the 2016 New York State Conference of Italian-American Legislators Scholarship. Pedretti, a member of the National Honor Society, National Staff Development Council for Academic Growth & Student Leadership in Learning and Walt Whitman SAT/ACT scholar is also an excellent athlete. She was the captain of the girls Varsity basketball team at Walt Whitman High, and a member of the All-County team and Wildcat Booster Club. She will be attending Nazareth College in the fall.
“I am thrilled that a student from the 10th Assembly District has won this award,” said Lupinacci. “Rose is a gifted individual on and off the court, excelling in the classroom as much as she does with a basketball in her hands. To see one of our community’s talented young people take advantage of an opportunity that presents itself is really fulfilling. She is the embodiment of the definition ‘Student-Athlete’ and I can’t wait to attend the award ceremony in Albany and see Rose get the recognition she deserves.”
