LUPINACCI: GOV. WRONG TO VETO SIGNIFICANT VETS BILL
Lupinacci responds to Gov. Cuomo's decision to veto legislation that would provide finical relief to military veterans.

Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci (R,C,I-South Huntington) responded to Gov. Cuomo’s decision to veto legislation that would provide finical relief to military veterans. Assembly Bill 8174-A, which Lupinacci co-sponsored, would provide any honorably discharged military veteran who works in public service the ability to collect up to three years of retirement service credit for their military service. The bill passed the Assembly and Senate in June.
“New York State wastes millions of dollars on corrupt politicians and useless commissions but our leaders won’t provide funding for our military heroes. It’s sad that Gov. Cuomo cannot recognize the significance of a bill like this,” said Lupinacci. “These brave men and women deserve equal opportunities to receive retirement service credit, regardless of when they served or what their duties were. To have this bill vetoed just before Veterans Day for the second year in a row is unacceptable.”
