LUPINACCI HONORS STATE CHAMPION WALT WHITMAN WILDCATS SOCCER TEAM
Lupinacci joined South Huntington's School Board in congratulating the New York State Champion Walt Whitman Wildcats Boys Soccer

Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci (R,C,I-South Huntington) joined South Huntington’s School Board in congratulating the New York State Champion Walt Whitman Wildcats Boys Soccer team during a school board meeting on December 9.
Lupinacci presented each of the members of the team with a certificate of merit in recognition of their contributions to the 2015 championship team, which compiled a 20-1-1 record. The state championship was Whitman’s first boys’ soccer title. The entire team and its coaches – John DiGiacomo, Robert Tedesco and Brian Karcz – himself a former Whitman soccer star – and aided by volunteer coaches Dan Zagorski and Alan Heavey – were presented a New York State Assembly Citation to commemorate the historic event.

The Wildcats won the county championship 1-0 over Brentwood on November 5. They captured the Long Island championship on November 8 by defeating Hicksville 4-1.

Then, in the State Championships on Nov. 14 and 15, the boys defeated Hilton and Ballston Spa to capture Walt Whitman High School’s first ever state soccer title.
