Lupinacci Hosts Energy Audit Press Conference

Lupinacci and Long Island Green Homes Initiative and the Sustainability Institute of Molloy College

Assemblyman Chad A. Lupinacci (R,C,I-South Huntington) recently hosted the Long Island Green Homes Initiative and the Sustainability Institute of Molloy College, helping bring attention to green energy and energy efficiency in the household. Long Island Green Homes, a 6-town consortium, audited Lupinacci’s home in South Huntington, discovering ways to make it more energy efficient and further protect the environment.

“It is no secret that we need to focus on improving our environment, protecting our natural resources, preserving our green space and utilizing our energy efficiently,” Lupinacci said. “Despite this, however, what many of us overlook the role our homes play in energy efficiency. Many of us do not know whether our homes are energy efficient or bleeding heat, air conditioning, and wasting energy and money.

“Long Island Green Homes has done a wonderful job making Long Island homes, more efficient and affordable. Estimates show that becoming energy efficient can save a homeowner over $1,000 per year. Saving money is something we can all get behind,” Lupinacci said.
