Assemblyman Chad A. Lupinacci (R,C,I-South Huntington) recently joined the NAACP of Huntington in celebration of their 37th Anniversary Celebration and Awards Program. The NAACP has a longstanding tradition of developing strong community leaders and advocating for the advancement of civil rights in America. At the celebration, Lupinacci recognized several individuals who have had positive impacts on the Huntington community.
“The NAACP is a wonderful organization that has built its legacy on empowering individuals and advocating for civil justice in American society,” said Lupinacci. “I was pleased to recognize a few distinguished young men and women for their graduation from high school, and for their tremendous work in the advancement of civil rights, devotion to their faith and dedication to civic participation. I am certain that their high school diplomas will serve as inspiration as they continue to make an impact in higher education and throughout our local community.”
Lupinacci also recognized Mrs. Jacqueline Harris, the Keynote speaker of the event.

“Jacqueline Harris is a champion for public education and someone who I am honored to call my friend,” Lupinacci said. “From my first days on the South Huntington School Board, Jacci and I worked together to set mutual goals in pursuing excellent education for all of our region’s children. It is only fitting that she joined this terrific celebration to share some insight from her tremendously successful career.
“I commend the NAACP for its tireless efforts throughout the community and thank all its members for allowing me to take part in this year’s anniversary ceremony and awards recognition,” Lupinacci said.
