LUPINACCI SUPPORTS PRO-BUSINESS PROPOSAL

Lupinacci expressed his support for Gov. Cuomo's proposal to raise personal income tax exemption for small businesses.

Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci (R,C,I-South Huntington) expressed his support for Governor Cuomo’s proposal that would include raising the Personal Income Tax exemption for small businesses in the 2016 Executive Budget.

“Increasing this tax exemption will be extremely beneficial for small businesses in New York State,” Lupinacci said. “Too many family-owned businesses on Long Island have been forced to close their doors because of high taxes and red tape. I’m hopeful this proposal will make it into the final budget because it’s the best starting point to help small businesses grow.”

In 2015, Lupinacci co-sponsored legislation that would raise the Personal Income Tax exemption, but the bill was blocked by Assembly Democrats.

“I believe Governor Cuomo’s tax exemption proposal will be a good start in our efforts to create more jobs and make New York ‘pro-business’ again. I will always support sensible, pro-small business legislation that would provide a better business climate on Long Island,” Lupinacci said.
