Lupinacci Visits Republic Airport With Local Students

Lupinacci speaks with students of Woodhull Elementary School at Republic Airport.

Assemblyman Chad A. Lupinacci (R,C,I-South Huntington) recently joined students from Woodhull Elementary School on a special visit to Republic Airport in Farmingdale. During the visit, the elementary school students were able to speak with the Geico “SkyTypers,” an elite group of pilots whose expertise is in skywriting and airplane demonstration. Other participants in the event sponsored by Bethpage Federal Credit Union were the United States Navy’s “Blue Angels.” The student visitors were elected members of Woodhull Elementary School’s Student Government group.

“It was an honor to take part in the Memorial Day celebration and join these students to meet such talented pilots,” said Lupinacci. ‘We were able to pay tribute to the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for this country and witness a display of American air-power courtesy of the ‘Blue Angels.’ These events are fun for the whole family, and also begin conversations about the importance of our armed services and all those who serve.

“I thank Republic Airport, Bethpage Federal Credit Union, the Geico ‘SkyTypers,’ and Woodhull Elementary school for inviting me to such a wonderful event. It is so encouraging to see our elementary school students and their interest in government. It was a great day for all, educational and fun – a great afternoon for the unofficial kick-off of summer,” Lupinacci said.
