Lupinacci Visits Suffolk County Veterans Court

Assemblyman Chad A. Lupinacci (R,C,I-South Huntington) recently visited the Suffolk County Veterans Court and its presiding judge, Judge John J. Toomey with Assemblyman Al Graf (R,C,I-Holbrook). Judge Toomey devotes his work to helping veterans struggling with drug and alcohol abuse, mental illness, unemployment and other service-related social issues.

Assemblymen Lupinacci and Graf discussed what can be done on the state level to help the veterans’ community acclimate back to civilian society after active duty. Lupinacci and Graf represent parts of Suffolk County, which is home to the highest volume of veterans in New York.

“Great things are being done behind-the-scenes to help our veterans adjust to civilian life after their military duty is completed,” Lupinacci said. “As fellow citizens and elected officials, it is our responsibility to thank our heroes and make it our duty to repay them for their service in any way we can. I am proud to recognize Judge Toomey for the great work this veterans court does to assist our veterans every day and help our heroes overcome so many obstacles. I look forward to continued work with the Suffolk County Veterans Court.”
