Man Found Unresponsive In Huntington Station Pool: Police
The 69 -year-old was pulled from the pool by a bystander before CPR was administered, police said.
HUNTINGTON STATION, NY — A Huntington Station man was in serious condition after he was found unresponsive in a pool Friday afternoon, Suffolk County police said.
George Barrett, 69, was swimming in an inground pool at Avalon apartments, at 1700 East 5th St., when he lost consciousness and was found floating in the water by another person at the pool at about 4:35 p.m., police said.
A bystander entered the water and pulled Barrett to the side, where two others helped lift him out of the pool, police said. CPR was administered and 911 was called.

When Huntington Community First Aid Squad paramedics arrived, they continued CPR and provided further medical treatment, police said.
Barrett was taken by Huntington Community First Aid Squad to Huntington Hospital in serious condition, police said.

Second Squad detectives are investigating the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at 631-854-8252.
