Man Injured When Car Overturned After Hitting Several Trees

A man was injured when his car overturned after he hit several trees on Tuesday morning. He was rescued by the Melville Fire Department.

MELVILLE, NY—A man was trapped under car wreckage after the Subaru SUV he was driving struck several trees and overturned in Melville on Tuesday, according to P.I.O. Steve Silverman.

The accident occurred on New York Avenue near Flatbush Place around midnight on Tuesday, June 25. The Melville Fire Department responded to the scene, using "Jaws of Life" heavy rescue tools to rescue the man, who was pinned in the car.

The man suffered injuries and was transported to the Nassau University Medical Center by Melville Fire Department ambulance.

Under the direction of First Assistant Chief David Kaplan, two engines, two ambulances and a paramedic responder were dispatched to the accident scene.
