Man Set Fire To Hotel He Was Living At: Police
Police charged a 50-year-old man with arson.

HUNTINGTON STATION, NY – A 50-year-old man was charged with arson after he set fire to a Huntington Station hotel Saturday evening, police said.
According to Suffolk police, Raymond Pond started a fire inside the Rodeway Inn at 270 West Jericho Turnpike at about 5:30 p.m. Second Precinct officers responded to the scene and extinguished the fire. Several people were on the premises at the time of the fire. There were no injuries.
Following an investigation, Canine Section officers located Pond about a mile from the hotel around 7:30 p.m.

Arson Section detectives charged Pond, a resident at the Rodeway Inn, with second-degree arson and two outstanding warrants. He was held overnight at the Second Precinct and was scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip Sunday.
