Man Steals Cooking Oil From Chick-fil-A In Huntington Station: Police

The man siphoned oil into a rented truck several times and re-sold it, police say. He was arrested.

HUNTINGTON STATION, NY — A man was arrested Wednesday after he stole cooking oil from a Chick-fil-A in Huntington Station several times this year, Suffolk police said.

Hector Castrol-Espinal, 23, of Woodside, was accused of siphoning oil into a rented truck and re-selling the oil, police said. Officers have been investigating multiple cooking oil thefts at Chick-fil-A, at 200 Jericho Turnpike, since January.

Castrol-Espinal was arrested in connection with stealing cooking oil from the store on Jan. 24, Jan. 31, Feb. 10, Feb. 18, and March 23, police said.

He was charged with five counts of petty larceny. He was issued a desk appearance ticket and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on a later date.

Police believe more businesses were targeted and encouraged anyone else victimized to call 631-852-COPS to file a police report.
