Medical Building Extensively Damaged by Pickup Truck in Huntington Station

The pickup truck slammed into the building Friday afternoon, fire officials said.

A spinal care office was extensively damaged after a pickup truck slammed into the building Friday afternoon in Huntington Station, according to fire officials.

The pickup truck was traveling eastbound on Jericho Turnpike when it crashed into the Orthopedic Spine Care of Long Island building, located at 206 E Jericho Turnpike, at 5 p.m., fire officials said.

About 35 Huntington Manor firefighters responded to the scene and checked the building for any possible injuries. The office was closed shortly before the accident and no one was reportedly inside.

The driver of the pickup truck suffered minor injuries and was taken to Huntington Hospital by Huntington Community ambulance.

Firefighters responded with two heavy rescue trucks and an engine and ladder truck. All units were under the command of Chief Frank McQuade and Assistant Chief Chuck Brady.

The Town of Huntington Building Inspector also responded to the crash to evaluate the damage.
