Northwell Health celebrated the opening of its $1.5 million, state-of-the-art, 5,000-square-foot orthopaedic facility in Huntington with a ribbon cutting ceremony on January 19.

The new facility is one of Northwell’s 11 orthopaedic offices on Long Island, including four in Suffolk County, which has been a major focus of the health system’s expansion efforts. Earlier this month, Huntington Hospital opened a new $53 million emergency department, and last fall, Northwell opened the $46.5 million Imbert Cancer Center in Bay Shore, and a $12.8 million imaging center in Smithtown. Last summer, Southside Hospital in Bay Shore opened the $60 million Bohlsen Family Emergency Department.
“We are excited to announce the opening of our new state-of-the art orthopaedic practice and welcome Dr. Bitterman to the Northwell Health Orthopaedic Institute,” said William A. Healy III, MD, director of orthopaedic strategic initiatives for Northern Suffolk County with Northwell Health Physician Partners. “With an upcoming expansion of our services, including sports medicine and upper extremity, we look forward to meeting the needs of the community in 2017 and for the years to come."
