Pedestrian Hit In Huntington Station + Threats Made on Tiktok

Here are the top stories today in Huntington:

  1. SUV driver hits, seriously injures pedestrian in Huntington Station, police say. Christopher Simon, 25, of Bethpage, was driving a 2017 Chevrolet SUV southbound on New York Avenue when he struck a pedestrian in the roadway at the intersection of West 4th Street at approximately 9:50 p.m., police said. The man walking, Edwin Segura, 39, of Huntington Station, was listed in serious condition at a nearby hospital and we wish him a speedy recovery. (Huntington Patch)
  2. Threat made against Huntington school, police investigating. There was a heavy police presence at Huntington Schools Monday, after a threat on Tiktok was posted Sunday and reported to police. James Polansky, superintendent of the Huntington School District, told the community that a "disturbing" video surfaced on the TikTok app where a person threatened violence at Finley Middle School on Wednesday. Police were called and went to the middle school on Monday morning, according to Polansky. The person has been identified and appropriate action had been taken, police said. (MSN)
  3. Plainview man's 100-mile trek raises money for those suffering with Alzheimer's. Jay Asparro started his journey Saturday morning in Montauk. He says that every step he takes he's thinking about his grandmother Ann Asparro, who suffered from Alzheimer's, and all of the caregivers who tirelessly help those dealing with the crippling disease. It is now the sixth time Asparro has run in memory of his grandmother and he has raised over $140,000 for the Long Island Alzheimer's and Dementia Center in Westbury, where the run will conclude. (News 12 Long Island)
