Here are the top stories today in Huntington:
- Mother arrested after leaving 4-year-old child in car Saturday night. The woman left her daughter unattended in the vehicle at 711 E. Jericho Turnpike at around 6:45 p.m. The car was not running, and police were called by a concerned citizen. Maricela Avila, 31, of Huntington Station, was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child. (Huntington Patch)

- Man struck and killed in Huntington Station Saturday night. James Beck, 57, of Huntington Station, was walking in the westbound lanes of East Jericho Turnpike when he was hit by a vehicle and then hit by a second vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
