Pedestrian Seriously Injured In Greenlawn Hit-And-Run: Police

The man was walking in the road when he was struck by a vehicle, but the driver kept going, police say.

GREENLAWN, NY — A pedestrian was seriously injured in a Greenlawn hit-and-run crash earlier in May, Suffolk police said. Police are searching for the driver.

William Thomas, 24, of Huntington, was walking northbound in the roadway on Park Avenue, near Hofstra Drive, when he was struck by a vehicle around 5 a.m. May 4, police said. The driver, who fled, is wanted for leaving the scene, police said.

Thomas was treated for serious injuries at Huntington Hospital after being brought there by Greenlawn Rescue, police said.
