Woman Found Dead In Huntington Apartment Was Killed: Police

HUNTINGTON, NY — The woman found dead in her Huntington apartment on Monday was killed, according to Suffolk police. She was identified as 47-year-old Mareasa Westcott, and her death was "criminal in nature," police said.

The landlord of the Elm Street apartment called 911 at 2:08 p.m. Monday to ask that police check on the welfare of Westcott, who had not been seen for several days, police said. Officers then found Westcott's body, police said.

No arrests have been made. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the case to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392.
