Purity & Power: The Traditional Practice of Prostrations

SATURDAY, JAN 30, 10am-1:00pm Dipamkara Meditation Center, 282 New York Avenue, Huntington, New York 11743 (631) 549-1000

With Guest Teacher, Donna Campanelli

Join us for a workshop on this beautiful traditional practice which functions both to purify negativity and build positive energy within us. We will learn about the many levels of meaning and the physical and spiritual benefits of this practice, and we’ll also learn how to engage in it according to our capacity. The most important prostration happens within our heart, and therefore can be practiced by anyone of any age with any physical challenge. In this course we’ll also learn how to engage in the different ways of making physical prostrations, including learning the traditional practice of The 35 Confession Buddhas. Through prostration practice we can purify and heal our body, speech and mind, and create the causes to attain an enlightened body, speech and mind.

Donna is the Resident Teacher at Vajralight Buddhist Center in Hartsdale, New York. She has been studying and practicing Kadampa Buddhism for 20 years. As a wife and mother of three, Donna delights in applying Dharma wisdom to her own life challenges, and she shares Buddha’s teachings with enthusiasm, humor and skill.
