  1. Outdoor apparel and goods store REI coming to Huntington next summer. The store will be in the Huntington Shopping Center at 350 Walt Whitman Rd. REI offers apparel, gear and expertise for camping, cycling, running, fitness, hiking, paddling, climbing, snowsports and more. "We've long been interested in better serving the Long Island outdoor community and in complement to our existing Tri-State stores," said Sean Sampson, REI regional director, via news release.   2. Social media threat made against Walt Whitman High School. Police went to the school on Wednesday after the threat was made on Tuesday night. Police told Patch the threat is still being investigated and the district said there was no credible threat. (Patch)
  3. Police looking for man who stole $1,500 in goods from Home Depot in Commack. On Sept. 13, the man stole a cultivator, wheelbarrow and roofing shingles around 4 p.m. He is wanted for grand larceny and police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-221-TIPS. (Patch)
