South Huntington Coaches and Athletes Honored
The team scored several distinctions at a recent awards dinner.

Two Walt Whitman High School soccer coaches and seven athletes were honored at the annual Suffolk County Boys Soccer Coaches Association dinner on Monday.
Robert Tedesco and John DiGiacomo earned this distinction in high school boys soccer. Tedesco, whose team went undefeated for the second straight year, was named the JV Suffolk League II coach of the year. DiGiacomo picked up the award as the League II, Suffolk County varsity coach of the year, according to th South Huntington School District.
Also awarded this season were seven Whitman players, who were recognized this season along with their first All-State player in “a very long time,” the district reported on its website.

The seven Whitman players include:
- Michael Lorello - All-State
- Witman Hernandez - All-County
- Sean Zagorski - All-County
- Fabrizio Chamorro - All-Conference
- Blake Aronson - All-League
- Albert Martinez - All-League
- Jameson Latko - Academic All-County
“As coaches, we are proud of not only what these boys accomplished, but also what our entire program has done these last few years,” DiGiacomo said.
