SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — A 45-year-old South Huntington man was sentenced to 10 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to raping his 21-year-old biological daughter in February 2022, Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney announced Friday.

The man was not named to protect the identity of his daughter.

"This defendant’s unfathomable actions have landed him in prison," Tierney said in a news release. "Thankfully, the victim courageously reported what her father had done, so that he could be held accountable for his crime. Hopefully this sentence will give her the peace of mind knowing that he will be in prison, where he can no longer prey on her."

The woman was spending time with her father in February 2022 when the man encouraged her to spend the night at his house, the DA said. The man gave his daughter an Advil PM so she could rest, officials said. While the woman was sleeping, she was awakened by her father rubbing her back and butt, prosecutors said.

The man then pinned his daughter's arms down and forcibly raped her, investigators said.

The woman fled from her father's house and ran to the home of a family member who lived nearby, authorities said. The police were notified, and the father was arrested, officials said.

The man pleaded guilty on May 31 to first-degree rape. His 10-year prison sentence will carry 20 years of post-release supervision. He was represented by Michael Elbert.
