- Multiple Town of Huntington businesses sold marijuana products, vapes and e-cigarettes to minors. Two of the eight businesses cited had previous violations from 2022 and overall 20 businesses were checked. Five of the 12 businesses who did not receive a violation had received one in 2022. - St. Anthony's student named National Regeneron Scholar. Miah Margiano, a senior at St. Anthony's High School, was one of 300 students nationwide to receive the accolade. Her project title was "Potential Influence of LncRNAs in Tumor Regression: An Analysis of Prognostic LncRNAs in Neuroblastoma." (Huntington Patch)
- Police seeking public's help to find man who stole from two liquor stores in December. The man stole a bottle of Hennessy from Liquor Plaza in Huntington Station and a short time later stole another bottle from Barrels & Stills in Melville. - Huntington Manor Fire Department Fan Page: 33 years ago yesterday, the crash of Avianca Flight 52 occurred in Cove Neck. 73 lives were lost, but due to collaborate efforts between the Huntington Manor Fire Department and other departments, 85 lives were saved. - Huntington Union Free School District: Huntington High School juniors and seniors have the opportunity to represent New York State at the 2023 National Youth Science Camp. “Hosted in Monongahela National Forest in West Virginia since 1963, the National Youth Science Camp is designed to honor and challenge some of the nation’s rising leaders and provide them with opportunities to engage with STEAM professionals and participate in exciting outdoor activities,” according to a program overview.
