Here are the top stories today in Huntington:
- Storms rock Long Island, leaving trail of destruction. Saturday turned from a beautiful day to many Long Island residents running for cover. A quick and violent storm front moved in that spawned tornadoes, strong winds and hail, and torrential downpours. Over 12,000 residents lost power. (Patch)
- Reilly, Tauckus carry Cold Spring Harbor past Seaford in Nassau IV semis. Cold Spring Harbor football won their playoff match-up against undefeated Seaford on Saturday night. The win gets them into the county championship where they will face North Shore at 12:30 p.m. (Newsday)
- ICYMI: Cheezly's opens in Melville. As many restaurants in the area close their doors for good, just as many new restaurants are popping up. Head a little south to Melville and check out Cheezly's, a restaurant built around cheese that opened last month. Offered on their menu are mac and cheese, grilled sandwiches, nachos and specialty items. "Everyone leaves with a smile" is their motto. The company is also selling store franchises.
