Suozzi Statement On Passage of 9/11 Victims Compensation Fund
Congressman Tom Suozzi made a statement on the Senate's passage of the 9/11 Victims Compensation Fund.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Tom Suozzi applauded the Senate passage of the 9/11 Victims Compensation Fund and issued the following statement via press release:
"I applaud the Senate passage of a permanent extension to the 9/11 Victims Compensation Fund. People are hungering for Democrats and Republicans to work together to solve real problems in real people's lives. That’s what happened here. I guess working together for heroes is a good step forward. Let’s keep going."
Senate passed the bill 97-2 on Tuesday, funding the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund for decades. That will permanently compensate those who were injured during the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001 and their aftermath, where they saved people and removed debris under hazardous conditions.
