Village After Dark: 5 Places to Eat Out Late

After a late night of partying, most people grab a bite (or two) before heading home to bed.

Happy Thursday, folks! That’s the “official” beginning of the weekend for my group and I think everyone should follow suit because it makes Friday much easier to get through and there's so many exciting things happening on Thursdays.

Besides heading out to local clubs, there’s always that need to grab a bite before heading to bed, and many restaurants accommodate the late night crowds. If you are trying to keep your resolutions (and avoid the late night eating), there are also a few great breakfast places for Saturday morning.

1. : No late night eats story about the Village would be complete without mentioning this pizza spot on New York Avenue. Open until 2 a.m. Sunday to Thursday and 4 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, this pizza place is always packed with partying 20-somethings grabbing a slice or two after a great night.

2: Also on New York Avenue, right next to Little V’s, Top Bunz offers burgers (obviously) as well as a bunch of incredibly delicious fried choices perfect for curing your late night cravings. They’re open till 4 a.m. on Friday and Saturday and 10 p.m. on Thursday.

3. Taco Bell: Although you need a designated driver to take you to the Taco Bell in Huntington Station, this option is sometimes the most suitable. Open till 4 a.m. on Friday and Saturday and 3 a.m. the rest of the week, the crunchy tortillas and nachos are sometimes incredibly hard to resist.

4. : Another designated driver location, McDonald’s on Jericho Turnpike is a drive thru and it’s open 24 hours, 7 days a week.

5.: located next to McDonald’s on Jericho Turnpike, that’s open for breakfast, lunch and dinner options until midnight on Sunday to Thursday and 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Here are some events for tonight to get you out and about in the Village After Dark!

1. : This bar also has a great dance scene on Thursday nights when ladies drink free from 9 p.m. to 12 p.m.

2. : This restaurant doubles as a bar for late-night activities. It’s got a big bar, booths for those interested in playing a round of thumper (or some other drinking game held over from the good old days of college) and it always has an interesting, mixed crowd.

3. : This quaint Wall Street bar is a great place to go with a few friends to have a drink or two. I’ve only been here on a Wednesday, but it was the perfect place to catch up with friends after the holidays, definitely worth a look later in the week.

4. : An interesting bar with large, delicious drinks, this restaurant turns into a club on Saturday nights, although in my experience the crowd is more in the 30-something range. Regardless, it’s definitely a good music scene and fun if you’re looking to get a little dressed up. They also have a happy hour Fridays 5 - 7  p.m. and DJ music both Fridays and Saturdays.

5. : If you’re looking for a laid-back bar to hang out with friends, this may be your best bet. Located behind Rosa’s Pizza, this bar offers a nice atmosphere (it’s technically a beer garden, especially in the summer) and a cool décor for bringing out-of-town friends out for a night on the town.
