HUNTINGTON, NY — Veteran broadcaster Juliet Huddy, who calls Huntington home, is leaving the media spotlight in the rearview mirror.

Instead, Huddy is putting her focus on her two passions--travel and pets.

It's with the latter that Huddy, most recently a host on WABC Radio, has reinvented herself as "Jet Pet Juliet."

"I thought I was going to make a little side hustle," Huddy told Patch. "My phone is literally dinging off the hook."

While the love of pets, especially dogs, is in Huddy's DNA, she admits the main reason for this undertaking.

"I definitely, over the last seven years, basically since I met my husband, I've really just been in agony pretty much every day up until a year ago. I would cry. I would break down because I didn't have a child. This really has changed me. Even our guests, I treat them like they're my babies," she said.

Huddy initially conceived the project as a dog walker, but quickly realized there was more of a need to watch pets.

Different options include having the "visitors" join her two dogs or she spent the night at the customers' homes.

"Typically, if they're wanting me to stay at their house, I'll do a little introduction and just make sure the dogs get along with me," Huddy said. "There isn't a dog that I don't get along with."
