Whitman Mall Restaurant Evacuates for Smoke Condition
The issue occurred Sunday evening.
A restaurant in the Walt Whitman Shops was forced to evacuate about 60 people due a smoke condition Sunday evening, according to fire officials.
The Huntington Manor Fire Department responded to the P.F. Chang’s restaurant, located on Route 110 in Huntington Station, to investigate the cause of the smoke at 5:20 p.m.
Firefighters checked the restaurant’s roof and ductwork to come to the conclusion that the source of the smoke was from the building’s heating, ventilation and air conditioning system, fire officials said.
