Huntington Woman Drives Drunk With 2 Children In Car: Police
A 12-year-old girl and 9-year-old boy were in the car, police said.
HUNTINGTON STATION, NY — A Huntington woman was arrested Tuesday evening after she drove drunk with children in the car, Suffolk police said.
Police received a 911 call at 7:35 p.m. stating Jennifer Lumme, 45, was intoxicated while driving a 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe with two children in the vehicle in the Huntington Station area, police said. Second Precinct officers found the vehicle on New York Avenue, near Olive Street, and stopped her at 7:45 p.m., police said. Officers saw a 12-year-old girl and a 9-year-old boy in the vehicle, police said. Lumme was arrested at 8:23 p.m. She is related to the children, police said.
The children were unharmed and released into the custody of family. The vehicle was impounded.

Lumme was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child passenger 15 years old or younger (Leandra’s Law), DWI and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. She was held overnight at the Fourth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Wednesday.
