📰 News we're reading

• Red Hook Village Gets Grant to Examine Cybersecurity Risk to Water System (thedailycatch.org) — Hyde Park's regional water system is among several nearby utilities receiving state grants to assess cybersecurity vulnerabilities, aiming to prevent hackers from tampering with pumps or chemical feeds. While Red Hook is the main focus, the funding signals growing attention to protecting smaller Hudson Valley water systems like Hyde Park's from potential cyberattacks.

• Dutchess prosecutor and judge now a homicide prosecutor in Westchester (mpnnow.com) — A former Dutchess County prosecutor and judge now trying a homicide case in Westchester previously handled some of Dutchess's most high-profile murders, including the 2011 killing of Kathryn Filiberti near her Hyde Park home.
