• Bright Spot: Couple honored for decades of Special Olympics coaching (13wham.com) — In Irondequoit, longtime Special Olympics coaches Stan and Annette VanSavage were honored countywide for more than three decades of work with local athletes, including their Great Tigers training club. Monroe County Executive Adam Bello proclaimed Sept. 28 in their honor, recognizing how their volunteer coaching has helped hundreds of athletes grow and feel supported.
