Catholic Daughters of the Americas: Lending a Helping Hand

 The Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Ave Maria held an interactive mruder mystery comedy night called Get Hitched as their spring fundraiser last month.

The CDA is a national organization of Catholic women age 18 years and older.  Court Ave Maria was instituted at St. Joseph Church in Kings Park in 1923 and has 170 members.

The women of the organization gather monthly to share faith and enjoy the company of other women with similar beliefs and values and take an active role in their parish and in their community. Two fundraisers are held each year. All money raised is used for charities and administering scholarship programs.

"We strive to be helping hands where there is pain, poverty, sorrow or sickness," said CDA member Patricia Ziegler.
