
Police are searching for a man who robbed a Smithtown bank on Wednesday afternoon.
Police say the man was dressed in women’s attire when he entered the TD Bank located at 714 Nesconset Highway and displayed a note stating he had a gun and demanding cash shortly after 4 p.m.
The teller complied with the robber’s demand and gave the man an undetermined amount of cash, police said.

The robber fled the bank in a westerly direction possibly in a light-colored vehicle, police said.
The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
