Remembering 9/11: Kevin Denis
Owner of Professor's Diner will be handing out American Flags on September 11.
The morning of 9/11 started for Kevin Denis, owner of Professor's Diner, the way it started for many of us, heading to work, mowing the lawn, putting the kids on the bus.
He was covering his pool that fateful morning when his brother-in-law rang him and told him to put on the television. Like all Americans, he was shocked and horrified by the images he saw.
He said things changed a lot after 9/11, he saw more families coming in to eat at the diner together – parents with their grown kids and their grandchildren.

"I saw a closeness in the community that I hadn't seen before," said Denis."It waned somewhat after about six or so months after the attacks," said Denis.
Since then, Denis said he has made more of an effort to help those in need. In the past year Professor's has collected donations for a family devestated by a house fire, hosted the late night meetings for the town's first St. Paddy's Parade and hosted a car show benefiting Wounded Warriors.

This September 11, Denis will perform a simple but significant act; he will hand out American flags to commerorate the 10th anniversary of the attacks.
